Ontario Issues 1,231 New PR Invitations Across 10 OINP Draws

Ontario has announced a major round of immigration activity under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), inviting 1,231 candidates for permanent residency on December 11, 2025. These invitations were issued through 10 region-focused draws, covering nearly every part of the province including Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Southwestern Ontario, and Central Ontario (excluding the GTA).

The draws targeted three key streams:

  • Foreign Worker Stream

  • International Student Stream

  • In-Demand Skills Stream

This large-scale selection reflects Ontario’s ongoing strategy to match regional labour shortages with qualified candidates already contributing to the province.

Overview of the 10 OINP Draws

Foreign Worker Stream

Ontario issued invitations to candidates whose profiles were created between July 2, 2025, and December 9, 2025.

International Student Stream

This round also included strong interest in graduates who studied in Canada.

  • Eastern Ontario: 93 invitations (score 77+)

  • Northern Ontario’s: 39 invitations (score 77+)

  • Southwestern Ontario’s: 136 invitations (score 73+)

  • Central Ontario’s: 105 invitations (score 71+)

In-Demand Skills Stream

Two regional draws were carried out for job seekers in high-demand roles:

  • Eastern Ontario: 123 invitations (score 30+)

  • Central Ontario’s: 115 invitations (score 30+)

These occupations mainly covered health services, supply chain support, construction trades, and public service operations.

Targeted Occupations

Across all regions, Ontario’s focused on roles that are essential to its economic and community development needs.
Some of the most highlighted categories included:

  • Administrative and HR occupations

  • Managers in health care, agriculture, natural resources, and communications

  • Medical technologists, laboratory technologists, dental assistants

  • Engineering managers, technologists, and inspectors

  • Construction supervisors and skilled trades professionals

  • IT and telecommunications managers

  • Policy researchers and program officers

  • Interior designers, editors, and producers

  • Nurse aides, community support workers, and other frontline service roles

This targeted approach ensures that employers in regional Ontario’s can access the skilled labour they urgently need.

Next Steps for Invited Candidates

Candidates who received an invitation must apply under the Employer Job Offer stream specified in their notification.

Important deadlines:

  • Employer Position Approval Deadline: January 6, 2026

  • Candidate Application Deadline: January 9, 2026 (via OINP e-Filing Portal)

Once the file appears in the portal under a new JOXX number, applicants must complete the submission along with the required documents and the application fee.

If you received an invitation, you do not need to contact the OINP team separately.

Conclusion

This major draw demonstrates Ontario’s strong commitment to regional immigration and labour market growth. With more targeted draws expected in the coming months, candidates currently working or studying in Canada—especially in high-demand occupations—can look forward to continued opportunities for permanent residency.
