Alberta Invites 81 Health Care Workers in April Immigration Draws

Alberta has invited 81 health care professionals to apply for provincial immigration in three separate draws held in the first two weeks of April 2025.

These draws were part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). This program targeted candidates through both Express Entry and non-Express Entry pathways, with a focus on the health worker sector.

    Stream: Alberta Express Entry – Priority Sectors (Health Care)

  • April 8, 2025:
    Stream: Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-Express Entry)
    Invitations: 28
    Cut-off Score: 53

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to health worker professionals with experience in Alberta’s key occupations, including:

  • Physicians

  • Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses

  • Nurse Practitioners

  • Physiotherapists

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Clinical Social Workers

  • Psychologists

  • Physician Assistants

Each profession must meet licensing requirements through the relevant Alberta regulatory body.

Basic Eligibility:

For Non-Express Entry Applicants:

  • Must have a valid job offer in Alberta’s health worker sector.

  • Meet the CLB 5 language requirement or show licensure-level language ability.

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure in Alberta.

  • Have a valid work permit or legal status in Canada if already working in Alberta.

For Express Entry Applicants:

  • Must qualify for the federal Express Entry system.

  • Have a CRS score of 300 or higher.

  • Your listed occupation in the profile must match one of Alberta’s eligible health care roles.

  • To be considered for Priority Sectors draws, you also need a valid Alberta job offer.
