The Australian Government has officially released South Australia’s skilled migration allocations for the 2025–26 program year, offering more than 2,000 nomination places. This provides a strong opportunity for skilled professionals who wish to build their future in South Australia.
Total Allocations for 2025–26
South Australia has received the following places, including interim allocations:
- 1,350 places for the Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)
- 900 places for the Skilled Work Regional Visa (subclass 491)
Registration of Interest (ROI) Now Open
Applications are now open for people already living and working in South Australia to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI).
Offshore Applicants – No ROI Needed
If you are applying from outside Australia, you do not need to submit an ROI. Offshore applicants will be invited directly from their Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted in SkillSelect.
Before You Apply
Applicants must carefully read the requirements for all eligible streams before submitting an ROI.
South Australia has also provided detailed guidance on the application process or you may contact Asif Consuting for further information.
Important DAMA Update
The Department of Home Affairs has introduced new rules under the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA):
- Only one variation request per year is allowed for each labour agreement.
- No variation requests will be accepted in the first six months after a new agreement has been signed.
- Employers should plan workforce and migration needs well in advance to avoid delays.
South Australia continues to welcome skilled migrants and support businesses through its migration pathways. Asif Consulting will keep you updated with any new changes.
