Australia shows itself as a desirable destination for international students with multiple institutes ranked among the top 100
Australia has once again proven why it is among the best destinations for international students as the Times Higher Education (THE) has shown the World University Rankings for 2023 in which Australia has seven institutes ranked among the top 100 and two of which are in the top 50. This shows that Australia still holds a strong global position in the field of education.
Furthermore, the current World University Ranking of 2023 is the largest listing in the 19-year history of the World University Rankings (WUR) as (THE) ranked 1,799 universities from 104 countries which are 137 more compared to last year.
The World University Rankings determined by (THE) is done by assessing the university’s quality through multiple tests such as:

drawing on an analysis of 15.5 million research publications along with 121 million citations.

Analyzing over 40,000 responses to an academic reputation survey.

Assessing hundreds of thousands of additional data points covering each university’s teaching environment, international outlook, and industry links.
Phil Baty, Chief Knowledge Officer at THE commented: “This year, for the first time… Oceania has overtaken North America to enjoy the distinction of the highest average overall score.” This is largely due to the strong results in research impact and the global academic reputation of the region, which includes Australia.
