It is common knowledge that Skilled workers normally apply for Express Entry if they wish to become permanent residents of Canada.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is one of the vital immigration pathways that the Canadian government uses to bring more skilled immigrants to the country. Under the Express Entry system multiple skilled worker programs operate to bring in suitable candidates to apply for Express Entry, these programs include the (CEC) Canadian Experience Class, (FSTP) Federal Skilled Trades Program, (FSWP) Federal Skilled Worker Program, and a portion of the (PNPs) Provincial Nominee Program. The Express Entry system consists of a two-step process.

First step: Candidates who are eligible for Express Entry must submit a profile on the (IRCC) Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada website. Candidates are then given a (CRS) score based on multiple factors such as age, education, work experience, etc and the IRCC selects the candidates with the highest CRS score are chosen and receive ITAs for Canadian Permanent Residency.

What is an ECA?

If a person is in the process of applying for Canadian Permanent residency then they must have an (ECA) Educational Credential Assessment to complete the process while others can use an ECA to enhance their competitiveness in the Express Entry pool. The IRCC uses the ECA to assess a person’s education level and compares it to Canadian standards to properly judge a person’s qualifications.
