The Canadian Provinces of British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island have recently issued (ITAs) invitations to apply to eligible candidates to have them participate in the latest Provincial Nomination draws held in the previous week.

(PNPs) Provincial Nomination Programs are normally handled by their own respective Canadian province with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut and through these interested and eligible candidates can receive ITAs to apply for Provincial Nomination with the prospect of gaining permanent residency in Canada later on.

Results of Provincial Nomination programs between December 1-8

Quebec

In the latest Provincial Nomination draws Quebec has invited 998 skilled workers on November 24th to apply for permanent selection followed by another 513 on December 1st.

The draw which was held on November 24 did not target any specific NOCs, however, the candidates did require job offers outside of the Montreal Metropolitan Community along with an Arima Expression of Interest with a minimum score of 603 points.

On the other hand, the draws held on December 1 were targeted draws for candidates under specific NOCs occupations. However, these candidates were also required to have job offers outside the Montreal Metropolitan Community, and their profiles in the Arima Expression of Interest system needed to have a minimum score of 589 points.

These invitations were given out by the immigration candidates who were applying under the (QSWP) Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program.

British Columbia (BC)

On December 6th the Canadian province of BC invited over 188 candidates to apply for Provincial Nomination in British Columbia on December 6.

Out of the total number of candidates, 144 were invited in targeted tech draws with invitations being issued to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduates categories and also included Express Entry candidates.

Candidates in this targeted draw required a minimum SIRS score of 95. The SIRS acts similarly to the Express Entry (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System however it is unique to the PNPs of BC.

The remaining 44 candidates were invited after the province also held rounds of invitations for candidates working in the following occupations.

  1. 32 early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214) with a minimum SIRS score of 60.

  2. 12 healthcare workers from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry category, with a minimum SIRS score of 60 points.

  3. Other priority occupations with minimum scores of 60.

Manitoba

There were a total of 305 candidates invited by the Canadian province of Manitoba under the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program. In order to be eligible to receive an invitation the candidates needed to meet a baseline of criteria specific to their program. The province invited candidates in the following manner:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba issued 206 invitations with a minimum score of 775

  • Skilled Workers Overseas issued 43 invitations with a minimum score of 673

  • International Education Stream issued 56 invitations with no score requirement.

Among the overall number of candidates, there were 31 who had profiles in the Express Entry system.

Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island has so far 2022 invited a total of 1,721 candidates for Provincial Nominations and in the most recent draw held on December 1st, the province invited 69 candidates through the Labour and Express Entry streams.

Those Express Entry candidates who want to be nominated by PEI have to submit a separate (EOI) Expression of Interest to the PEI PNP.

PEI awards a score to the EOI profiles on the bases of its points grid similar to the (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System of the Express Entry and later on the highest-ranked candidates receive invitations to apply through monthly draws.
