Ontario held a draw on the 7th of December 2021 and invited 1186 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination, Ontario opted for 1186 PNP candidates, IRCC.
From Ontario’s Expression of Interest system, Ontario Immigration Nominee Programm (OINP) issued invitations to candidates.
Under the Employer Job offer stream, the selected candidates are eligible for one of the three ensuing streams: Foreign Worker, International student, and In-demand skills. Apart from these, certain invitations went to candidates who were registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot.
Every year, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) distribute a specific number of nominations to those areas and provinces that are conducting provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
Ontario opted for 1186 PNP candidates, IRCC. Ontario’s allocated number of candidates for the year 2021 is 8350, in addition to that, 250 nominations for temporary foreign workers for NOC skill level C.
Till now, the province of Ontario has issued 8600 nominations, however, Ontario’s immigration ministers told in October that they have requested the Federal Government to raise their number of allocations in the preceding year 2022.
The recently passed act named as ”Working for Workers act” aims to assist immigrants to indulge in regulated sectors apart from health care. It will also restrict relevant bodies from requiring work experience in Canada, remove the requirement of language proficiency tests for the purpose of licensing, and speed up this process particularly in emergency cases.
