158th Express Entry draw held on 5th August 2020, in which 3,900 candidates are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence. This recent draw depicts that Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is issuing 3,900 Invitations To Apply through Express Entry every two weeks for most of 2020. In this draw invitations are sent to the candidates belongs to all three of the economic immigration streams by the Express Entry System.

This draw was the 25th draw of 2020 and eventually a new record of 61,600 Invitations To Apply issued this year so far.

This recent draw was actually all program draw including Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and all mentioned streams lie under Express Entry. Invited candidates have a minimum score of at least 476 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to be eligible for the invitation and yes the highest-ranked candidates in Express Entry Pool are issued Invitations To Apply.

The tie-break rule in today’s draw is July 27, this rule is used to rank candidates who have the same CRS score, which means that only those candidates are invited who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the selected date and specific time. This should be mentioned here that under the Express Entry system eligible candidates do not require job offer but the Comprehensive Ranking system does award additional points to the candidates who have it. Although the main selection factors for eligibility are the same, such as age, education, proficiency in English or French and skilled work experience.
