Express Entry applications and detailed description of all aspects regarding and the requirements you need to fulfill to be eligible for it.
Over the past few years, Canada has attracted many skilled workers to immigrate there and settle down as permanent residents and the most major reason why it was able to do so was thanks to the Express Entry applications .
The Express Entry is a name assigned to an online system that is tasked to cumulatively manage skilled worker applications from three different programs which are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. However, it is often mistaken for a Canadian immigration program itself.
Let us now discover more about the requirements for Express Entry applications.
First requirement: Determining eligibility
Similar to every immigration process in Canada, the applicant must first prove that he/she is eligible for any of the three skilled worker immigration programs mentioned above that are part of the Express Entry applications.
This eligibility of a candidate can be determined either by answering a few questions to see if you meet the minimum required qualifications for any of the programs or by reading through their detailed requirements.
Second Requirement: Submitting your profile on IRCC and check your (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System score
Once you determine that you are eligible, it is time to make and submit an online profile through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
For this step, applicants need to gather some key documents necessary to complete their IRCC profile, including a language test and an (ECA) Educational Credential Assessment.
The Canadian government provides a list of all the documents they will need you to provide for the processing of both your IRCC profile and your eventual electronic (APR) Application for Permanent Residence, which will be discussed later.
After the submission of your profile, you will be given an official (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System score from IRCC, which is crucial for those in the skilled worker category to immigrate to Canada.
Third Requirement: Check if you receive an (ITA) application invitation
Once you have received your official CRS score after submitting your profile, the IRCC will determine whether or not to issue you an (ITA) Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada.
For foreign skilled workers to attain permanent residency in Canada it is vital for them to have an ITA. The ITAs are distributed through Express Entry draws held roughly every two weeks in which the group of immigrant candidates with the highest CRS scores are invited by the IRCC to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Upon receiving an ITA, the candidates are given 60 days by the government to submit their application for permanent residence.
Fourth Requirement: Submit your completed electronic application for permanent residence (APR)
Within the 60 days given to you by the government, you must compile all the necessary documents needed for your application for permanent residency.
Some examples of documents you might need are a birth certificate, proof of funds, and a medical exam. The complete list of required documents is displayed on the government of Canada’s website.
For this process, you will be required to pay any fees associated with your application, obtain a medical exam, and pass a police background check to finalize your electronic APR.
Finally, you can submit your application for permanent residence in Canada after completing all the required actions.
Fifth Requirement: Wait for IRCC’s final decision
Now, you just have to wait until the processing of your permanent residence application is complete which according to the government should take six months or less which is how long Canada takes to process 80% of its Express Entry applications with its current service standards.
