The CRS score for the all-program Express Entry has dropped below 500 for the first time.

Canada’s 9th and most recent all-program Express Entry was held on October 26 in which 4,750 candidates with a minimum (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System score of 496 received invitations to apply (ITAs). In this draw, candidates from all programs that fall under the jurisdiction of the Express Entry system such as the (CEC)  Canadian Experience Class, (FSWP) Federal Skilled Worker Program, and (FSTP) Federal Skilled Trades Program were considered eligible.

This draw marks the first time the CRS score has dropped below 500 after the ExpressEntry draws were resumed. The last time this happened was on 23 December 2020, when the CRS score requirement was 468. Afterward, Canada had to pause its all-program Express Entry draws for over 18 months due to a backlog in applications caused by COVID-19-related travel restrictions and Canada wanting to avoid creating a larger backlog of applications for permanent residence.

however, candidates under the CEC and PNP Provincial Nominee Program still received (ITAs) during the pause period but in September 2021 the draws for CEC were also paused by the IRCC.

The expected implementation of the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025  in the coming days

The IRCC releases a new immigration level plan every few years with a target for how many immigrants Canada hopes to welcome within the 3 years following the release of the plan. The number of immigrants is then further divided into immigration class and their programs such as the immigration level plan of 2022 targeted 55,900 new permanent residents through Express Entry and between January and August 31 it succeeded in admitting over 28,000 new permanent residents. Now Canada has developed a new Immigration Levels Plan for 2023 to 2025 which is expected to be announced on November 1st this year.
