Over 100 ITAs issued by Manitoba and Edward Island in the most recent PNP draws

This week, candidates received ITAs to apply for (PNP) Provincial Nominee Programs draws held in the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Prince Edward Island. These programs are held by Canadian provinces so that they can invite foreign skilled workers to become permanent residents in their provinces and become part of the labor force. Moreover, most of the Canadian provinces operate their own PNP with the only exceptions being Quebec and Nunavut however recently the provinces have held fewer PNP draws due to the introduction of the NOC 2021 which was implemented by the IRCC because the provinces are trying to update their PNP eligibility criteria to be more compatible with the new NOC system.

An example of this can be seen in the fact that British Columbia which had previously held draws on a weekly basis through the (BC PNP) British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program has yet to resume draws. Moreover, the BC province has also made a drastic change to its  points allocation system which operate similarly to the (CRS) Comprehensive Ranking System of the  Express Entry.

The NOC system can be called Canadas main way of classifying jobs and has recently also moved to a TEER classification.

  1. Due to this, there has been an increase in points assigned to human capital (skills, experience education and competencies of the individual) and economic factors (job offer, income, district of employment) of applicants.

  2. Moreover, there are also additional points added for professional designations and language proficiency in both English and French;

  3. Points have been added for previous experience working or studying outside of metropolitan Vancouver.
