Express Entry Draw, 4500 Canadian Experience Class candidates are invited
Canada has invited 4,500 candidates for permanent residence in its 198th Express Entry draw. In this draw held on July 22, only Canadian Experience Class candidates are invited.
CRS cut-off Scores
The Comprehensive System Score for the lowest ranking candidates is 357. In the previous CEC draw, CRS cut-off scores were 369 but the number of invitations was the same. These are the second-lowest CEC scores that are targeted in the Express Entry draw. The tie-breaking rule for this Express Entry draw is February 14th, 2021.
Federal Skilled Workers Draws
Canada is planning to reopen Canadian borders for vaccinated travellers by this September. Many travellers are waiting for the borders to restart of Federal Skilled Worker Draws. Express Entry Draws are focusing on the candidates already living in Canada after the outbreak of the pandemic.
To meet the increased immigration target for 2021-23, for CEC draws the CRS cut-off scores will be lower on a continuous basis. Candidates with Canadian work experience have higher chances to apply for a Permanent Residency.
Federal Skilled Workers draws were on hold but chances are there to be resumed. To deal with the labour market demand, provinces are working on their nominee programs. Provincial Nominee programs work on the basis f in-demand experience and candidates are selected directly from the Express Entry. Candidates with no ties in Canada can receive permanent residency status.

For eligibility under the Canadian Experience Class, one year of Canadian work experience is needed in any skilled occupation. Candidate with minimum 7 CLB in the official language exam with valid authorization in past three years.
