Canada – 100,000 Express Entry Invitations
Canada is on pace to exceed 100,000 Express Entry Invitations in 2020 despite pandemic. This is considered great that Canada has managed to deal with COVID-19 aftereffects.
Before the outbreak of pandemic and travel restrictions, Canada was on pace to target 341,000 permanent residents in 2020. But as the pandemic prevailed, social and travel restrictions were needed to impose. And that was the significant slow down of immigration and throughout 2020 it remained slow. Many candidates who are issued even confirmation of permanent residence are unable to travel to Canada because of travel restrictions.
Express Entry Draws:
But along with this Express Entry draws are taking place on bi-week intervals. As it was expected that pandemic will affect Express Entry draws. But surprisingly things went in the opposite way as Express Entry draws breaking records. In fact, the high ratio of immigration is expected as the pandemic will over. The largest-ever Express Entry draw held on October 14. In this recent remarkable draw, 45,000 Express Entry candidates are invited. Almost 82,850 invitations are issued in 2020 which are eventually a pathway to permanent residence. It is expected that IRCC will conduct five more draws in 2020. These draws will help to exceed 100,000 Express Entry Invitations.
This depicts how Canada is committed toward immigration to support the economy in the post-pandemic era. To deal with it IRCC takes less than six months to process 80 percent of applications. Candidates are hopeful that they can enter Canada in 2021 because of these larger draws. Express Entry objectives and immigration intake will be more clear by the end of October.
