British Columbia Tech Pilot Draw inviting 74 candidates for Canadian Immigration, held on 22nd September. These invited candidates apply for a provincial nomination which is a pathway for permanent residence. British Columbia Tech Pilot Draw is a fast-track pathway of immigration for international students and in-demand tech workers.

Details about recent B.C Tech Pilot

In this recent British Columbia Tech Pilot Draw candidates are invited under the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories. Candidates selected under sub-categories like Skilled Worker and International Graduate need a minimum provincial score of 80. British Columbia Tech Pilot Draw was launched in 2017 and extended most recently in June 2021. 

Eligibility

For eligibility, candidates should be registered in any of B.C’s existing provincial immigration streams. Along with this a valid job offer of at least 12 months in 29 eligible occupations. To apply under Express Entry BC or Skills Immigration categories, candidates have to create a profile through the B.C PNP online portal. In this way, candidates can be registered under Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Applications are evaluated and scores decide whether the candidates are invited to apply in the given invitation round. Scores are based on different factors like education, years of work experience, and B.C employment offer. 

Express Entry candidates if receive a nomination from British Columbia, are awarded 600 points towards Express Entry CRS. In this way, they are guaranteed to receive an Invitation To Apply. Federal Express Entry draws are held almost twice a month and a pathway to permanent residence in Canada. 

This year IRCC has issued 74,150 ITAs which shows that even during the pandemic outbreak new immigrants are invited. In fact, in the latest Express Entry round, 4,200 invitations are issued since 2015. Even in September, B.C has 6 draws through its various PNP categories and streams. And almost 1000 candidates are invited for a provincial nomination. After the invitation, invited candidates have 30 days to apply for the nomination.
