Alberta PNP applications, new online portal and fees

Now candidates can apply online for Alberta’s most immigration programs. The province also introduced new fees. Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program applications could be done online from October 1st, instead of the Self-Employed Farmer Stream. Authorization from AINP is needed to access the new portal, for the candidates in Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Online portal

Portal was designed to make the immigration application process easy. Candidates of any Alberta’s PNPs can get help to enter data, a checklist for documents and an option to save draft. An initial assessment is done for eligibility to save time and money.

Portal fees

Processing fees is $500, to submit an application to the province through an online portal. If the application is submitted then fees are non-refundable. This fee is for processing the application, it has nothing to do whether the provincial nomination is issued or not, to the candidates.

Candidates who have applied before or on October 1 for Alberta Opportunity Stream or Alberta Express Entry stream, do not have to pay the fees.

Even the candidates who applied for Self Employed Farmer Stream after October 1 via mail, have to pay the fee.

Post-decision Services fees

According to AINP, post-decision services will be sent via mail. Now candidates have to pay $100 as service fees. These post-decision services include requests for reconsideration, nominee requests for letters support and nomination extensions. This is also processing fees and non-refundable.

Applications could be updates via email

Candidates can send emails to inform the AINP about:

  • Application withdrawal.
  • Third-party representative updates.
  • Employment status, immigration status, contact information updates.
  • Updates about information or documents.

Coronavirus Update

  • Incomplete applications will be declined.
  • The employment requirement must be met at the time of the application.
  • AINP will send an email even when the application is on hold.
  • AINP new portal will help to reduce the streamlined application process for candidates.
  • This change of the new portal and new fees is not due to COVID-19 according to AINP.
