Alberta immigrant nominee program, 300 Express Entry candidates invited

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program AINP issued 300 Notification of Interest letters on March 26, 2021. Immigration candidates are invited through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. 

CRS cut-off scores

Candidates selected under the Express Entry Stream have a CRS cut-off score of at least 301. While most of the Federal Express Entry draws have CRS cut-off upwards of 460. 

Selection Criteria for this draw

To be invited under Alberta Express Entry Stream, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

• Active Express Entry profile in the Federal Express Entry pool.
• Interest in permanent immigration to Alberta. 
• Minimum CRS score of 301. 
• Working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development. 

Alberta Express Entry Stream

Alberta Express Entry does not require candidates to have a profile on a provincial immigration system. Candidates who have a fit criterion to satisfy Alberta’s labor market demands. The province must be responsible enough for its particular labor needs while selecting candidates. 

Quota for AINP 

6,250 nomination certificates for 2020 were authorized to be issued. But after the outbreak of the pandemic and then to Alberta Economic Recovery plan only 4,000 nomination certificates were issued. And 2400 applications from 2020 are in a queue to be processed. 

While the AINP quota for 2021 has not been public yet.
