AINP Alberta Immigration Nominee Program
Alberta, economically fastest-growing province of Canada so the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program nominates people with skills and abilities to deal with the shortage and economic growth in the province. The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program operates in coordination with the Canadian Federal Government and nominates the candidates, who have eligibility and work experience, for Canadian permanent residence.
The province of Alberta consists of the following immigration streams:
Alberta Opportunity Stream
Alberta Opportunity Stream is for the immigrants who are working in Alberta in an eligible occupation, they can apply for an AINP provincial nomination with minimum eligibility requirement. It is also for the international graduates who have completed their studies in any approved post-secondary institution in Alberta.
Eligibility requirements for Alberta Opportunity Stream
Candidates must have a temporary resident status and authorizes eligibility to work in Canada with a valid work permit, CLB must be minimum 4 but if the individual is applying under NOC code 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates) they require a minimum of CLB 7 in English or French, for education individual must have completed a Canadian high school diploma or if having foreign education then must be verified through Educational Credential Assessment, applicant must be currently be employed and must have 12 months full-time work experience in Alberta along with this a valid job offer is needed from Alberta employer to work in current occupation. At the time of applying, individuals must be working in an eligible occupation in Alberta that matches the previous work experience and Post-Graduation Work Permit holders with an approved post-secondary credential issued by an Advanced Education approved Alberta public and private post-secondary institution need to be employed in an occupation related to their field of study in Alberta.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream has replaced the existing Employer-driven stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream. Along with this, there are some changes in language requirements which will take effect from January 1, 2020. Like if the applicant is currently working in NOC 0, A or B then CLB 5 minimum needed for language skill and if the applicant is working in NOC C or D occupation CLB 4 is needed.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta Express Entry Stream which allows Alberta to nominate a specific number of eligible candidates from Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry System. Although it’s newly introduced but the most popular stream of Alberta in which province issue Notification of Interest to the suitable candidates. Alberta prefers the candidates who have strong ties with Alberta and help in the growth of the province’s economy. International graduates from Canadian post-secondary institutions can also have a chance to submit an application under this stream.
Candidates may receive a Notification of Interest Letter if they have active profile in the Federal Express Entry Pool and have shown interest in permanent immigration to Alberta, working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economy and adaptabilities one could have job letter from Alberta or work experience there, a graduate form Canada’s post-secondary institution or having a relative specially blood relation living in Alberta.
Points Calculator
The applicants who meet the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) points criteria of 67 points out of 100 with other basic criteria of AINP- Express entry stream is eligible to apply in the stream. This point system has six selection factors like age, education, work experience, language ability, Adaptability and Arranged Employment. AINP access the express entry pool and notifies the eligible express entry candidates, to apply in AINP Express entry stream. If the applicant currently working in Alberta on a work permit under-skilled occupation NOC A, B or 0 level then 10 points added in fact if the Alberta employer made a full-time job offer to the applicant this will also add 10 points. Self Employed Farmer Stream allows applicants with farming experience and having personal funds to purchase a farm in Alberta and manage their farming business to apply for permanent residence. This stream is totally to attract farm owners or operators who plan to live in Alberta to manage their farming business. Eligible candidates must demonstrate farm management skills and financial resources to manage a farming business in Alberta. A minimum net worth is $500,000 CAD as the Government of Alberta will prefer the applicants with proposed business plan and growth base agri-food targets.
