179th Express Entry Draw, 5,000 CEC candidates are invited
179th Express Entry draw held on March 18 inviting 5,000 Express Entry candidates to apply for a Permanent Residence. This recent draw was specific to Canadian Experience Class candidates. To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class 499 CRS scores are required to receive an invitation to apply (ITA). This draw is the second one from the Express Entry pool in two days.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class, one year of full-time skilled work experience is needed in Canada. Along with this intermediate official language skills with other criteria. Candidates with Express Entry profile submitted before February 19, 2021, which is a tie-break rule.
Travel restrictions are still in place but IRCC is prioritizing in-Canada immigration applicants. According to IRCC data from March 8, almost 77 percent of Express Entry candidates in Canada are eligible for the Canadian Experience Class. In the previous draw held on March 17 and PNP candidates were invited. Candidates receiving PNP automatically granted additional scores so they usually have higher CRS scores.
Express Entry
Express Entry in Canada deals with three Federal Immigration Programs such as Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. After eligibility among these programs candidates are given scores on the Comprehensive Ranking System. And CRS scores are awarded on the basis of age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.
The job offer is not needed but you have any it can help you to achieve extra points. The highest-scoring candidates can receive an Invitation to Apply which is a pathway to permanent residence.
