166th Express Entry Draw issuing 4500 Invitations to Apply
166th Express Entry draw held on November 5 issuing 4500 Invitations to Apply. The invitations are issued to the Express Entry candidates. Candidates are invited with minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of 478.
French Speaking Candidates
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that French-speaking candidates are eligible for more CRS points. They will get 25 extra points for language skills up from 15 and if the candidate knows both languages English and French then more points from 30 up to 50. This draw was delayed than usual time to update all the affected profiles in the Express Entry pool. Normally Express Entry draws are held biweekly. The largest number of invitations are issued in this one draw and it’s the third time that Canada has issued 4500 invitations.
Express Entry CRS cut-off:
Express Entry draw took place from September to October and saw a decrease in the number of CRS points. Candidates needed 475 points to be invited in early September and 471 till mid-October. And now in November CRS cut-off scores up to 478 and there are certain reasons why CRS cut-off scores went up.
It’s because the 22 days gap between the previous and November 5 draw is the most recent one. This longer gap increased the number of candidates to enter the pool. Candidates who are already in the pool have to prove French ability which gives a boost to their points. In the following graph, there is a CRS Cut-off score for the last 10 draws.
